
A violent altercation in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood late Sunday night has left one man in critical condition and another under arrest, following a stabbing incident. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the incident occurred around 10:50 p.m. on the 7600 block of North Bosworth Avenue, where an argument between a 34-year-old man and a 55-year-old man escalated into a physical confrontation.
The police reported that during the altercation, the older man, seemingly defending himself, grabbed a knife and stabbed the younger man in the abdomen. The younger man responded with his fists and punched the older man in the mouth, "causing a laceration to his lip," Chicago police said. Both the suspect and the victim were subsequently taken to St. Francis Hospital for treatment, where the stabbing victim was listed in critical condition. However, the details surrounding the initiation of the fight have not been disclosed by the authorities.
FOX 32 Chicago reports that the offender was arrested at the scene and, aside from the lip injury, is in stable condition. The specific charges to be levied against the 55-year-old have not been announced as of yet. Area Three detectives are actively investigating the circumstances of this incident.
