A Miami man is recovering from gunshot wounds following an incident at the Wynwood neighborhood's popular burger restaurant, Skinny Louie, local authorities report. Miami Police were dispatched to the scene near Northwest Third Avenue and Northwest 24th Street shortly before 10 p.m. after a ShotSpotter alert, both NBC Miami and WSVN report.
Upon their arrival officers found a male victim with gunshot wounds and he was swiftly transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital Trauma Center for treatment, his condition has since been stabilized, according to police, the shooting's circumstances are still unclear and it is unknown if any arrests have been made. Witnesses at Skinny Louie described a rapid succession of gunfire, with one patron, Artem Grib, recounting to NBC Miami, "We were just sitting at the bar right next to here, and all of a sudden there's like eight or nine shots in very rapid succession."
The aftermath of the shooting left Skinny Louie employees visibly shaken, as evidenced by their emotional response at the site. Police have cordoned off the restaurant to investigate the crime scene, but thus far they have not provided information about a potential suspect.
The area of Wynwood was abruptly disrupted as detectives worked through the night to gather evidence following the shooting at Skinny Louie restaurant, WSVN noted that further details about the shooter or the sequence of events leading up to the incident remain unknown at this time and police urging anyone with information to come forward.
