
A violent altercation disrupted the afternoon calm in Miami's Wynwood neighborhood when a man was reportedly stabbed multiple times. The Miami Police Department is conducting an investigation into the incident that occurred outside Cerveceria La Tropical, a popular brewery spot located at 42 NE 25th St. The altercation was logged just before 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, according to police officials.
Sky 10 captured the scene from above, showing officers cordoning off the area and entering in and out of the premises. Meanwhile, Miami Police spokeswoman Officer Kiara Delva shared with Local 10, "The victim did in fact suffer from a laceration to his neck and forehead as a result of a stab wound." The victim, a Hispanic man in his 30s, was quickly transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital to receive urgent medical care.
Rapid response by authorities has lead to the detention of an individual for questioning. Delva revealed that detectives are working to clarify the circumstances surrounding the attack. She mentioned, "It’s unknown if there was some sort of verbal dispute or if there was some sort of issue among both of them," in a statement obtained by Local 10. Notably, the victim and the detained person were known to each other, suggesting a possible personal motive behind the aggression.
Aerial footage provided by Chopper 6, as reported by NBC Miami, depicted multiple police officers at the scene, indicating the seriousness of the incident. Despite the violent nature of his injuries, the victim was conscious while being transported to the hospital.
