Memphis has seen a string of high-profile robberies lately, with the latest incidents bringing in a significant police response. Maurice Harris, 31, found himself at the center of this criminal storm after being arrested and charged for his role in two separate armed robberies targeting local mobile phone retailers. WREG reported that Harris was taken into custody following a theft at a T-Mobile store earlier in the month, where he allegedly made off with over $12,000 worth of phones and tablets.
A similar scenario unfolded on the 5200 block of Airline Rd in Arlington, where an armed robbery also hit an AT&T store. The Shelby County Sheriff's Office detailed how a suspect, fitting the same description as the one provided by Memphis Police, brandished a handgun and coerced an employee into handing over roughly $30,000 worth of electronics, including iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches. The incidents struck a chord in the community, prompting a swift and thorough investigation by local law enforcement.

Maurice Harris now faces multiple charges in connection with these crimes: aggravated robbery, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The authorities were prompted to take action after the robbery at the T-Mobile store located on Elvis Presley Road. The store employee later positively identified Harris from a six-person photographic lineup.
