The mobile veterinary clinic is rolling coming to a new location to offer free animal wellness services. Announced in partnership with Commissioner Laura Dominguez of Miami Beach and Commissioner Micky Steinberg of Miami-Dade County District 4, the Wellness on Wheels (WOW) Mobile, an initiative by Miami-Dade County Animal Services and Friends of Miami Animals Foundation Inc. (FoMA), is set to be stationed at 7605 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33141 from yesterday to December 18.
Dog and cat companions in the Miami-Dade area can now get essential care without the fret of cost; the WOW Mobile provides services on a first-come, first-serve basis with doors open from 8:30 a.m. to noon and a subsequent session from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday though it's closed Thursday to Sunday and on all County-observed holidays. Treatments include standard vaccinations, deworming, flea prevention, and avenues for spay or neuter surgeries, these much-needed services come courtesy of a generous donation alongside grant funding sourced from FoMA, emphasizing a commitment to the health of local pets and peace of mind for their owners.
For those interested in taking advantage of the Wellness on Wheels offerings, further information can be found on the Animal Services Department website, or by calling 311 - there’s also a stream of updates and announcements to be followed on their social media at @adoptmiamipets.
By supporting the well-being of pets through such endeavors, FoMA and the participating commissioners are making a tangible impact on the community and the shared bond between Miami’s humans and their animal companions; this mobile clinic represents healthcare for pets and an acknowledgment of the lesser-heard needs in Miami's diverse pet ownership landscape.
