According to a release from the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place in the early morning, around 8:00 a.m. The suspect or suspects gained entry into the locked residence and fled after taking the property, which included a 1-year-old dark gray French Bulldog named Franklin. A distinguishing mark can be found on his face, below his nose.
Franklin's photograph has been circulated in a bid to recover him safely. The authorities have not advised the public to approach the suspect(s) but instead to reach out with information. Anyone who has seen the dog or has relevant information is encouraged to contact the police at (202) 727-9099. Alternatively, they can send an anonymous tip via text to the department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
