The Murfreesboro community is stirring with concern as the family of Sariya Whitney, a 15-year-old girl who has been missing since September, steps up efforts to find their loved one. The family is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to Sariya's location. According to WKRN, Sariya was last known to be in the Nashville area.
In a bid to raise awareness and encourage tips from the public, Whitney’s family, in desperation, has put forth a monetary reward. "If you know where she can be located, please contact Detective Reyes at 629-201-5595," urged the Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) in a statement obtained by WSMV. Her grandmother reported Sariya missing after the teen went for a run with some neighborhood children in the Turfland Drive area of Murfreesboro and did not return.
The MPD does not believe that Sariya is in immediate danger, yet is unable to confirm reports that she may have been spending time with another family member. Detective Reyes is leading the investigation into Sariya’s disappearance. The police have taken several steps to ensure the case’s visibility by entering Sariya’s details into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as a missing person.
