
A tragic incident occurred on Sunday at Old Murfreesboro Pike near Faircloth Avenue, claiming the life of a pedestrian. The man, who was 57 years old, was reportedly lying in the roadway when he was struck by a westbound Kia Sorento at around 1:40 a.m., according to the Metro Nashville Police Department's statement. As of now, identification of the individual is tentative while efforts to notify his family are ongoing.
The incident details are still unclear, and it's not confirmed if the Kia was the first vehicle to hit the man. Authorities are investigating the collision and considering all possible factors. Neither the pedestrian nor the driver of the Kia Sorento showed signs of impairment at the scene.
The man succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. Representatives from the Metro Nashville Police Department have not yet provided further details regarding the investigation.
