
A violent episode unfolded in the Whitehaven community leaving one man dead, and two people critically injured after an early Thursday morning shooting. According to Action News 5, Memphis police arrived on the scene shortly after midnight at Haven Court, off of Tulane Road, where they discovered the deceased male.
Further reports from WREG indicated that another man alongside a woman were rushed to Regional One Hospital in critical condition. As the neighborhood grapples with the aftermath, law enforcement officials have suggested the shooting seems rooted in domestic issues.
The area around the 4700 block of Haven Court was cordoned off as authorities worked the scene of the tragedy. FOX13 Memphis detailed that the incident occurred near East Shelby Drive and Tulane Road at a local apartment complex.
In the wake of the events, Memphis Police Department continues their investigation into the circumstances of the shooting, and have not yet released the identities of the individuals involved. "Preliminary information suggests this shooting to be domestic violence-related," said police as per the initial reporting. The full scope of what transpired and the relationship between the individuals involved remains under careful scrutiny.
