In a violent outbreak Monday night in South Memphis, a man was fatally shot and two others sustained injuries in what police say was a gunfight. The Memphis Police Department responded to the incident at approximately 9 p.m., dealing with crime scenes at two locations: South Parkway and Florida Street, as well as the 1856 South Lauderdale Street, as reported by WREG.
Upon arrival, officers discovered three men with gunshot wounds. "Two were transported to Regional One in critical condition, and one was transported non-critical," as per the details provided by WREG. Sadly, one of these individuals was unable to survive, later pronounced dead at the hospital. Efforts to quickly transport the injured to medical facilities were to no avail in his case.
"Investigators said the two locations are related and the men were in a gunfight on South Parkway," according to the statement obtained by Local Memphis. The investigation is ongoing, and the Memphis Police Department is likely to immediately release any further updates as the inquiry progresses.
