A fire in northwest Miami-Dade hospitalized one person and sadly resulted in the loss of a dog. The blaze started early this morning in a mobile home at Northwest 14th Avenue and Northwest 77th Terrace. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews quickly arrived and extinguished the flames, according to NBC Miami.
When firefighters arrived, they urgently searched for pets and found three dogs. They performed CPR, but sadly, one dog did not survive; the other two were rescued. A victim in critical condition was quickly taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, as reported by WSVN.
The fire has been classified as a one-alarm fire by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, indicating it was of normal size and manageable for firefighting crews. Due to the prompt response from eight fire rescue units, the fire was swiftly brought under control.
After the incident, the American Red Cross was called to assist the homeowner in dealing with the aftermath of the fire. Currently, details about the hospitalized individual's condition and the extent of property loss have not been released, but updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
