According to a social media post by the Pinole Police Department, at around 5:30 AM yesterday, a series of events unfolded that began with a report of gunfire on the 2300 block of Simas Avenue and culminated in a man being shot in the legs after a car chase that ended in a crash.
The authorities were alerted to the dispute when a woman from the 3200 block of Estates Avenue called to report that her husband had been shot. Officers arrived to find the victim at his residence, wounded but in stable condition, and subsequently transported him to the area hospital for treatment. The victim had reportedly discovered a man attempting to break into his garage. This man was linked to a vehicle containing several other suspects parked outside the victim's dwelling. Following a confrontation, the suspects fled, and the victim gave chase in his vehicle. The pursuit came to an abrupt end on Simas Court, where the suspect fired multiple rounds at him.

The alleged shooter is described as a black male adult in his 20s and wearing a mask. The associated vehicle is said to be a dark-colored four-door sedan.
