Center 50+ is rolling out the welcome mat for community members to find their volunteer niche at its Harvest Party Volunteer Fair slated for Wednesday, October 30, from 2 to 4 p.m.
"Senior Volunteers are an asset to every organization in this community," Center 50+'s director, Marilyn Daily, extolled in the deep spirit of giving back. "We are excited to connect new volunteers to projects that make Salem a great place to live," she shared, as per the City of Salem's official website. At this gathering hailed for its impact and annual anticipation, guests can explore opportunities for service amidst the backdrop of autumn festivities.
Aspiring volunteers can expect to encounter a diverse array of organizations. With representatives from Salem Health Services, Marion and Polk Early Learning Hub, World Beat, Oregon State Hospital, and the Salvation Army Kroc Center, the fair promises to stitch a rich tapestry of civic engagement possibilities for attendees. All told, they join an impressive roster of 30 organizations looking to bolster their ranks with passionate community members.
Belied by a bustling volunteer force already surpassing 450, Center 50+ stands as testimony to the enlightenment that follows when individuals fuse their interests with communal needs. "We may not have the perfect match for every person," Daily admitted, recognizing the individuality of each potential volunteer's journey. "Our mission is to connect people to volunteer service that matches their passion and talents and gives them great purpose," according to the City of Salem.
