A confrontation in San Antonio's Northwest Side has left one man hospitalized and another facing intense questioning after a vehicle burglary attempt escalated into gunfire. FOX San Antonio reports that the incident occurred at the Overlook at Westover Hills Apartments around 3 a.m. today.
According to the police, the truck owner, alerted by his monitoring system, encountered two individuals tampering with his vehicle. Armed with an AK-47 and accompanied by his wife, who wielded a handgun, they approached the parking garage where they found the suspects. Per the truck owner's account, upon the sighting of a weapon in one of the suspect's waistbands, he discharged a round in their direction, causing them to flee.
Shortly afterward, a man arrived at a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. He is reported to be in critical condition, as detailed by both FOX San Antonio and News 4 San Antonio. The link between the injured man and the burglary attempt has not been officially confirmed.
San Antonio police are actively investigating the details of the confrontation and have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting as of yet.
