In a recent accolade by Newsweek magazine, the County of San Diego’s Edgemoor Skilled Nursing Facility has been named the No. 2 facility in California for Newsweek’s America’s Best Nursing Homes 2025. Maintaining a record of excellence, this is the sixth consecutive year Edgemoor has been rated among the top three nursing homes in the state. The County of San Diego reports the recognition is a testament to the staff's dedication and high-quality care provided to critically ill and injured adult patients who require long-term support.

"We are honored that the dedication and commitment of our staff have been recognized as among the best in California for six consecutive years," Dr. Luke Bergmann, PhD, Director of County Behavioral Health Services (BHS), said, as per the County of San Diego. The honor highlights Edgemoor's commitment to providing top-tier care within the community.

As highlighted by the County of San Diego, Newsweek's ranking criteria focus on four key factors: performance data, medical professional recommendations, accreditations, and resident satisfaction. These metrics aim to ensure that only the most reliable and satisfactory facilities are recognized for their caregiving and patient management efforts.

Aside from skilled nursing care, Edgemoor supports patients with around-the-clock services, including physical rehabilitation and various therapies. Holding a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the facility's quality services are further cemented by its administrator. "We are incredibly proud of this achievement," Erin Chancler, Edgemoor’s Administrator, said, as per the County of San Diego. Chancler credits the success to the staff's dedication and the supportive leadership from the County, HHSA, and BHS.
