Early on Wednesday morning, an attempt to burglarize a south Indianapolis pawn shop resulted in significant damage but left suspects on the run. WRTV reported that a stolen Kia Optima was used to ram into the storefront of a pawn shop near Southeast Street and Madison Avenue, in what the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department suspects was a robbery attempt.

The vehicle, abandoned at the scene and later confirmed as stolen, did not enable the culprits to gain access inside the establishment. Despite the crash incident, it appears nothing was taken from within, although the investigation is ongoing. An actual inventory was being conducted by a man on site, claiming he couldn't discuss details without authorization from the store's, "corporate headquarters," as told to News 8.

The IMPD is looking for three suspects who fled after a crash at a shop. Witnesses reported that the shop's doors were shattered. Police responded to an alarm around 4:30 a.m. and found a car crashed into the front door, disrupting the quiet morning. Officer Tommy Thompson said detectives will review security footage to gather more information about the attempted burglary, WTHR reports.

After the incident, a police report indicated that a rifle valued at $800 was missing from the First Cash Pawn shop. The suspects were still unidentified, and a stolen car was towed from the scene.
