Aquatic enthusiasts can enjoy free 30-minute sessions of pedal boats and kayaks from Tempe Boat Rentals. These sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early to secure your spot. The first 500 attendees will also receive a commemorative State Forty-Eight T-shirt to celebrate the occasion.
Food trucks and local vendors will be on-site, offering a variety of tasty options for purchase. Attendees can satisfy their appetites with delicious concessions.
Tempe Town Lake has a rich history and significant economic impact. Once a series of canals built by the ancient Hohokam, it has transformed into a bustling hub since the idea was proposed in 1966. Mayor Corey Woods noted the contributions of former mayors in shaping the lake's success and mentioned future projects like Rio Reimagined, which aims to enhance community connections and environmental ties.
