Leather and whips and chains, oh my! Fetish was the word of the day as SoMa welcomed the annual Folsom Street Fair on Sunday. This marked 41 years for the fair that celebrates the leather, kink, and alt-sex communities. Hundreds of thousands of attendees reportedly showed up to enjoy or just observe fetishes of every flavor.

Folsom Street, the non-profit organization behind the fair, “cultivates a safe, open, and inclusive environment for the kink, leather, and alternative sexuality communities while centering equity for BIPOC and LGBTQA2I+ people.” Since 1984, it has given over $7 million dollars in support of non-profit LGBTQ+ organizations.

This year’s fair included seven stages that featured live music, bondage performers, DJs, wrestling, and drag performances. There was also The Playground, “space for women of every kind and all trans and nonbinary folks,” which featured a tent and stage performances.
There were all variety of leather, bondage, flogging, and furries to satisfy any craving. Not to mention plenty of nudity.
