
On Tuesday afternoon, a severe car crash on State Street in Provo resulted in three individuals being hospitalized, with one person reportedly in serious condition. The collision, involving a Nissan truck and a Toyota car, required both drivers to be extricated from their vehicles, as reported by ABC4 based on information from the Provo Police Department.
The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. when the southbound Nissan truck was struck by the Toyota making a left turn. Details provided by the police indicated that the driver and a passenger were injured in the crash, the driver of the Nissan and the passenger sustained what were described as moderate injuries, according to the Provo Police Department. However, the driver of the Toyota car is in serious yet stable condition, as stated by KSL-TV.
In response to the crash, a significant section of State Street was closed, disrupting traffic through the busy area for an extended period. The road was closed for over two hours as the Traffic Accident Team conducted their investigation before lanes were reopened. According to KUTV, there were no initial indications of impairment as a factor in the crash.
All individuals involved in the crash were taken to the hospital following the accident, with one suffering life-threatening injuries, while the other two faced more superficial injuries.
