
Mount Juliet Police, along with Metro Nashville Police, engaged in a high-speed chase Friday evening that resulted in the apprehension of three suspects following a carjacking incident, as reported by WKRN. The pursuit initiated when officers were alerted by the Metro-Nashville Police Aviation unit about armed suspects involved in a Nashville carjacking, per a statement released by the Mt. Juliet Police.
The chase swiftly moved through the area after the suspects were spotted exiting Interstate 40 at the Providence area. According to WSMV, the fleeing vehicle then left the road, crashing into a tree near the intersection of Hobson Pike and Smith Springs Parkway, following a high-speed descent along South Mt. Juliet Road. Subsequent to the crash, all three suspects attempted to hastily escape on foot.
The Mt. Juliet Police Department, in a social media update, detailed that K9 Majlo successfully tracked and apprehended one suspect quickly after the crash. The social media post went on to confirm that the remaining suspects were later located by teams from both the Mt. Juliet and Metro-Nashville Police Departments, as reported by Mt. Juliet Police's social media account. Police also discovered several firearms at the scene.

No serious injuries were reported in the aftermath of the pursuit and subsequent crash, which ended with the suspects' vehicle catching fire, according to officials. The investigation into the carjacking and pursuit continues to unravel details as the authorities piece together the series of events. Both the Mt. Juliet and Metro-Nashville Police Departments are actively involved in this ongoing investigation.
