On Tuesday, authorities responded to a tragic scene near the 6000 block of Baine Avenue, where an ACE train had stopped. They found an individual with critical injuries, who was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by the Newark Police Department.
No passengers on the train were physically harmed. The Newark Police Department and Alameda County Fire Department were the first to respond after the morning rush hour.
The Union Pacific Police Department handles the investigation, as they have jurisdiction over the tracks. Few details have been released as the investigation continues.
