A collision involving a train and a truck near S. Decatur and Sunset have prompted an investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. They responded to the incident around 7 p.m. last night when a train struck an unoccupied truck parked on the tracks in the 6420 block of Cameron St., according to FOX5 Vegas.
The impact caused the truck to careen into nearby fencing surrounding an uninhabited homeless encampment, subsequently striking several cars and leaving an elderly man with complaints of neck pain. The police stated that he was stable. The aftermath of this accident also necessitated a street closure, as a repair crew was dispatched from California. The police shared that Sunset would be closed until today, as reported by News 3 Las Vegas.
