
Two children were hospitalized yesterday after being caught in the crossfire of an adult dispute in Pompano Beach, resulting in an unidentified liquid being poured on them, the Broward Sheriff's Office reported. The incident took place around 11 a.m. on the 400 block of Southwest Second Street, prompting deputies to rush to the scene following a medical call, according to reports from NBC Miami.
The dispute involved three adults who knew each other. Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Miranda Grossman shared with CBS News that at some point during the heated argument, the minors came into contact with the substance and were subsequently taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Authorities have since taken two women into custody in connection with the event. The nature of the liquid has not been disclosed, and detectives in Pompano Beach are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident. For now, details about the altercation and the relationship between the individuals involved remain unclear, and the condition of the children has not been released.
