Two suspects are in police custody, with a third at large, following a shooting incident in Hialeah, authorities said. The Hialeah Police Department fielded multiple emergency calls concerning gunfire reported near W. 54th Street and 21st Court. According to NBC Miami, the responding officers immediately secured the area and began their investigation.
Several witnesses observed three males fleeing the area by foot, which led to a swift response by police, who established a perimeter to apprehend the suspects. Of the three alleged perpetrators, two have been apprehended, but the third remains at large. As reported by Hialeah Social, officers discovered bullet casings at the scene, and a vehicle was also identified with damage to the driver's side mirror, but no injuries were reported.
The identities and charges of the detainees are currently not disclosed. The two individuals in custody were not cooperating, authorities explained. Officials have not indicated the motive behind the incident however; investigations are ongoing. The Hialeah Police Department encouraged anyone with information on the case or the third individual's whereabouts to come forward.
