A 35-year-old e-bike rider is fighting for his life after a catastrophic encounter with an Audi Q7 in West Palm Beach. CBS12 reports that the incident occurred while both the cyclist and vehicle were traveling westbound on Forest Hill Boulevard.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) disclosed that the Audi driver, identified as Francisco Moreno of Boca Raton, failed to notice the e-biker in front of him until it was too late. The rider, Woodley Felix Jean Gelibert from West Palm Beach, seemingly had no reflective lights or gear that would have made him more visible. Gelibert was thrown from his 2024 KGK E-Bike upon impact and landed on the road, sustaining severe injuries, according to an account by Boca News Now.
Gelibert was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in critical condition following the collision. At present, there have been no charges filed against Moreno.
