The Wilton Manors Police Department is actively searching for Robert Collado, a 67-year-old man reported missing from his home, as concerns rise due to his dementia diagnosis; they are calling on the community for assistance in bringing him back safely. WSVN reports that Collado was last seen at his residence located at 50 Northeast 24th Street, with his daughter recalling it could have been between Tuesday and Wednesday morning while she was asleep.
Described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 135 pounds with salt/pepper hair and sporting a full salt/pepper beard, Collado was last seen wearing a pink polo; his pants remain undescribed, coupled with black shoes; and though he is said to be traveling by foot, there's an added concern as he reportedly suffers from dementia, does not know how to swim, and speaks Spanish as his primary language, according to the police statement acquired by Local 10.
Authorities have emphasized the urgency of the situation due to Collado's dementia, as he left his wallet and phone at home, complicating search efforts. The police are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact emergency services by calling 911.
