The Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, in concert with the State Police and Winchester Police, has disclosed the indictment of two Winchester men facing multiple serious charges, according to an official press release issued yesterday. David Ferrick, 67, has been charged on thirteen counts that include child pornography possession and child trafficking; his son, Bradford Ferrick, 33, faces ten similar charges.
Specifically, the elder Ferrick, who was arraigned on September 30, 2024, is facing charges like two counts of posing a child in the nude, three counts of possession of child pornography, and additional counts related to incest and the reckless endangerment of a child, as per the Massachusetts government website. His son, arraigned on October 17, 2024, has been indicted for crimes including trafficking a person for sexual servitude and tampering with documents,. A forthcoming arraignment in Franklin County is also on the horizon for him, where he will face additional charges.
The investigation, which was a collaborative effort between the Attorney General's Office, the Massachusetts State Police Cyber Crime Unit, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, as well as local police and the FBI's Child Exploitation – Human Trafficking Task Force, commenced on February 13, 2023. The sustained effort of these agencies brings into stark relief the egregious nature of the crimes and the systems of protection in place to unearth such chilling behaviors.
Bradford Ferrick, apart from the charges, was known to have begun a medical residency at Baystate Franklin Family Medicine in 2022, including rotations at facilities within Greenfield, Deerfield, and Springfield. This detail adds a layer of concern regarding his access to vulnerable populations during his tenure there, and the indictment raises questions about the vetting processes for positions entrusted with care. The authorities are urging anyone with information connected to these offenses or other potential related criminal activities to come forward and reach out to the Winchester Police Department via their provided email address at [email protected].
