
A tragic incident unfolded in Southeast Shelby County on Tuesday, as a woman was found shot to death in the Long Creek community. Action News 5 reports that the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at approximately 5:40 p.m. on Shadowland Cove, where they discovered the victim with fatal gunshot injuries.
The sheriff’s office has since launched a death investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. As of now, officials have not released any information about potential suspects in the case, leaving a community grappling with the reality of such violence in its midst. The victim, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, was pronounced dead at the scene by arriving members of the Shelby County Fire Department.
In confirmation to the events, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office posted an update on their social media. ShelbyTNSheriff stated, "Detectives are conducting a death investigation in the 7800 block of Shadowland Cv in southeast Shelby County." They added that upon arrival, deputies found a female adult unresponsive with a gunshot wound and "Shelby County fire made the scene and pronounced the female deceased."
