Early this morning, a Worcester Police officer on patrol came across a scene that’s all too common in urban living. Around 4:10 AM on Mason St, the officer observed Hector Gonzalez, a 46-year-old Worcester man, allegedly trying his luck on the locked vehicles parked along the street. According to a press release from the Worcester Police Department, Gonzalez was seen attempting to open multiple car doors until he struck proverbial gold and successfully opened one.
The sight of Gonzalez reportedly entering the vehicle prompted the officer to act, leading to the man's arrest on charges of breaking and entering into a depository. Upon his arrest, it was discovered that an outstanding warrant for a similar incident was associated with Mr. Gonzalez, making this encounter with the law a familiar one.
Things didn't get better for Gonzalez afterward; he was taken to the station "by wagon," as reported by the police department. The report did not mention what Gonzalez was allegedly after or if any items were recovered. Breaking and entering is a common issue in urban areas, and residents are often reminded to double-check their car doors at night.
