
A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday evening in Spring Hill, Tennessee, where a 19-year-old cyclist named Jacob Crawford lost his life after being struck by a bus. As reported by WSMV, the crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Campbell Station Parkway. As per the Spring Hill Police Department (SHPD), Crawford was stopped in the continuous turn lane awaiting traffic when a 50-plus-seat Prevost passenger bus, attempting to exit a Publix parking lot, collided with him during its left turn onto Campbell Station Parkway.
The SHPD emphasized that the cause of the accident is still under investigation. Officers have to carefully interview multiple witnesses and collect all accessible evidence, as noted by Williamson Source. The findings from this thorough investigation will eventually be handed over to the 21st District Attorney's Office to determine if any criminal laws were violated in the course of these events.
At the time of the incident, the bus was carrying only eight passengers. There were no reports of other injuries. Jacob Crawford was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, leaving the Spring Hill community in mourning.
