
Tragedy struck near Chicago's O'Hare Airport in Schiller Park late Friday night when a 26-year-old man was fatally shot. According to NBC Chicago, the local police responded to reports of gunfire around 11:32 p.m. in a parking lot on the 10200 block of West Irving Park Road.
The victim, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, was critically wounded and subsequently transported to Lutheran General Hospital, unfortunately, he did not survive. ABC7 Chicago reports that while the events leading up to the shooting remain unclear, investigators are treating it as an isolated event, not a random act of violence.
Schiller Park police, along with the Major Case Assistance Team, are diligently investigating to piece together the circumstances of the shooting. As of now, no suspects are in custody, and authorities are urging anyone with information to step forward and contact the police at 847-678-4794.
