The Bay Area is set to experience a variety of weather conditions as we move into the holiday weekend. According to the National Weather Service San Francisco, a Frost Advisory has been issued from Wednesday night into Thursday morning for several locations, including the East Bay Hills and Valleys and the North Bay Interior Valleys. Temperatures are expected to plummet to the mid-to-lower 30s. Residents in these areas should prepare for the cold and protect sensitive outdoor plants.

In addition to the frosty conditions, coastal areas should heed the Beach Hazards Statement, effective from Tuesday evening through Thursday evening. "Expect long period south swell with breaking waves up to 10 to 14 feet," cautions the National Weather Service. This could pose a significant risk for beach-goers, as strong currents and cold water hazards increase the potential for cold water shock and dangerous swimming conditions.

According to National Weather Service forecasts, the recent rainfall that dampened the Central Coast will be clearing up, as light rain is expected to taper off by late morning. As the system moves out, a cooler, drier air mass occurs, ensuring a dry Thanksgiving holiday. Daytime temperatures in the region are predicted to hover in the chillier upper 50s to low 60s range.

Looking ahead, after the frost advisory expires, conditions will start warming slightly. Areas like the interior Bay Area and Central Coast will experience overnight lows in the low to mid-40s during the weekend, while the daytime will see temperatures climb to the mid to upper 60s. The dry spell is expected to continue through early December. "CPC guidance continuing above average temperatures through early December," highlighted the National Weather Service report.

For aviators, the slowly improving weather spells good news as the cloud cover lifts and shower activity subsides, leading to clearer skies. However, pockets of fog could still disrupt visibility, particularly in the Northbay area, come Wednesday morning. Mariners are always encouraged to stay updated with the latest marine forecasts, especially with the southward swell.
