Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office were called to a distressing scene in Beaverton, where a family dispute turned violent, leading to an attempted murder charge for a 26-year-old man. In what appears to be a chilling domestic altercation, Peter Stine of Beaverton has been arrested following the assault on his grandfather. On Monday, authorities responded to a report at around 10:31 a.m. concerning a disturbance involving a weapon on NW Joscelyn Street, reported by the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
According to deputies, upon arrival, they found the victim with significant head trauma, after Stine reportedly admitted to hitting his grandfather using a baseball bat. The injured elderly man was transported to a local hospital, with expectations of survival notwithstanding the severity of his injuries. The circumstances surrounding the dispute, however, remain unclear as the investigation continues.
Stine was taken into custody and is facing grave charges, to which, the justice system will hold him accountable if found guilty. He is currently lodged in the Washington County Jail, and authorities have booked him on counts of attempted murder, assault in the first degree, and unlawful use of a weapon.
