A Beaverton man is now in custody facing severe charges after a domestic dispute escalated into violence, with the individual allegedly attacking his grandfather using a baseball bat. Local authorities have detailed the incident and the charges that follow. Peter Stine, 26, was arrested after deputies reported to a call where it was found that Stine had inflicted “severe trauma to the head” on his elder, according to KOIN.
The altercation, which seems to have torn through the quiet of a family home on NW Joscelyn St., resulted in Stine’s grandfather being transported to a local hospital, the victim of the violent encounter is expected to pull through, despite the grimness of the attack, as reported by The Oregonian. The exact motives behind the aggression remain unclear but what lingers in the air is a sense of shock and the stinging reality of family violence breaching the walls of what we consider our safest harbors.
Stine now faces a series of charges: attempted murder, first-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon. He is being held in the Washington County Jail as the legal process begins to unwind the threads of this tragic tapestry, as per KPTV.
The investigation is still underway. Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 503-846-2500, referencing case number 50-24-17188
