The streets near New Disciples Worship Center in Boynton Beach became a tragic crime scene last Friday afternoon following a shooting that left one man dead. Police have since been vigorously piecing together this puzzle of public violence as they strive to apprehend the one responsible. According to WPBF, the victim, identified as Brandon Rahming by his bereaved family, was described as "one of the sweetest people you would ever meet."
The Boynton Beach Police Department responded to a distressing call at approximately 1:45 p.m. near the church's intersection at NE 2nd Street and NE 12th Avenue. The discovered body marked the tragic end for Rahming. Family members, filled with grief, are now seeking answers and justice, as reported by WPBF. Investigators believe the altercation that led to Rahming's death involved another individual shortly before the fatal incident.
A person of interest has been put into the investigative spotlight by the authorities, with no arrests made thus far. CBS12 News emphasizes the words of Dani Moschella, public information officer for the BBPD, confirming that detectives are intensely "talking to witnesses, people in the neighborhood, anybody who may have seen anything."
One neighbor, not seeking identification, recounted to WPBF the initial disbelief of hearing the shots, mistaking them for fireworks. It was only with the arrival of the police and upon seeing the body herself that the grim reality was confirmed. She described the scene, stating, "That’s when I saw the body laying there. I was like, ‘That was gunshots.'" Rahming's family and the community now seek closure after this daylight tragedy, hoping to understand the motive behind the loss of a life described as endearing.
The BBPD urges anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and contact detectives at 561-732-8116. As authorities piece together this heartbreaking event, the call for witnesses is crucial in seeking justice for Brandon Rahming.
