
As December arrives in Cobb County, the community is participating in several charity drives to help those in need. Programs like the North Cobb Regional Library's special needs adult program and MUST Ministries' winter coat drive are among the initiatives aimed at spreading holiday cheer, according to the Cobb County.
This season, there are several opportunities to help spread holiday cheer. The Peachy Homeschool Explorers Co-Op is collecting winter coats at the Switzer Library until Dec. 2. The Santa’s Elves for Seniors program is looking for donors and sponsors. Commissioner Sheffield is gathering toys for South Cobb families through Dec. 9. Cobb Christmas, Inc. will host a toy donation event from Dec. 10-12 and distribute toys to pre-registered families on Dec. 13-14. Cobb Police's SWAT Santa Toy Drive is accepting new, unwrapped toys until Dec. 16, and Toys for Tots boxes are available at all Cobb Tax offices until Dec. 19, as reported by the Cobb County.
The Mable House Arts Center in Cobb County is holding a Tree Jubilee with decorated trees and wreaths for sale until December 13. Local artists and groups created them. Other events include Small Business Saturday and tree lightings. There are also activities like cookie decorating and volunteering opportunities.
