Del City's weekend took a turn when local authorities found a body at Rag City Customs, a body shop located at the intersection of Delwood and Westside Drives. The discovery has prompted an active homicide investigation, as reported by KOCO.
A 43-year-old man, whose identity remains withheld pending notification of next of kin, was found with fatal gunshot wounds. "It took us a little bit to get the search warrant for us to get in and actually start processing the scene," Brad Cowden of the Del City Police Department conveyed in a statement obtained by KFOR.
Details regarding the victim's connection to Rag City Customs remain unclear, with no indication yet as to whether the deceased was an employee or simply found himself at the location by chance. This remains one of many pieces of the investigation that authorities are working to clarify. The incident was confirmed by Del City police, who responded to a call and later pronounced one individual dead at the scene, according to information shared by OKC FOX.
Law enforcement is actively working to gather evidence, interview potential witnesses, and analyze data in order to understand the circumstances surrounding the victim's death. Del City police have not yet released additional details but are encouraging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
