A serious traffic accident in the Bay Ho neighborhood has left an elderly man fighting for his life. According to the San Diego Police Department's Watch Commander's Log, a collision occurred on November 24th at approximately 5:30 pm on the 4200 block of Morena Boulevard.
The incident involved an unidentified male pedestrian, estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old, pushing a shopping cart in the second northbound lane when he was struck from behind by a 45-year-old man driving a white 2025 Ford F-250 pickup truck. The Watch Commander, Officer Buttle, noted that the driver did not see the pedestrian before the collision.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he went into cardiac arrest but was resuscitated following CPR. His injuries were described as life-threatening and included fractured ribs, a ruptured spleen, a collapsed lung, and a fractured pelvis. Authorities have determined that DUI was not a factor in this accident.
