An 18-year-old has died following a collision on Interstate 71 near US 68 in Clinton County yesterday evening, as reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The crash, involving a Subaru Legacy and a Ram pickup truck, occurred around 6 p.m., according to WLWT. Both vehicles were traveling southbound when the Subaru, for reasons not yet clear, struck the Ram, leading to both vehicles being redirected, the Subaru into the median, and the pickup truck into the right lane.
The tragic outcome of the accident is the death of passenger Makell Rhinehart, an 18-year-old from Chillicothe. She was transported to Clinton Memorial Hospital but succumbed to her injuries, as confirmed by Local12. Loren Schorr, 21, also from Chillicothe, was identified as the driver of the Subaru. Schorr was taken to the hospital by Port William EMS for treatment of his injuries, the specifics of which have not been disclosed.
