
A man was fatally shot yesterday in the Wilkes neighborhood of Northeast Portland. Portland Police Bureau officers rushed to the scene on the 15900 block of Northeast Fremont Street after receiving reports of gunfire at approximately 5:46 p.m., Monday, according to the Portland Police Bureau news release.
As they made their way to the location, additional information came in that a victim was discovered on the scene. Upon arrival, the officers encountered a deceased male victim, the circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation, and no further details regarding the identity of the man or potential suspects have been released at this time.
The Portland Police Bureau is actively investigating the incident and has not disclosed if any arrests have been made. The Bureau is calling for witnesses or anyone with information about the shooting to come forward to aid in the investigation.
