The Miami Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 1:20 p.m. on Monday, near Northwest 16 Avenue and 59 Street. In a brief issued by CBS News Miami, three of the victims were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital as trauma alerts, while the fourth individual drove themselves to medical care. The scene included at least 12 rounds discovered at a residence at 1609 NW 59 Street.
The violence appeared to suddenly unfold, with Miami Fire Rescue swiftly acting to aid the injured. "The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation," a Miami Police Department spokesperson said in a statement obtained by Local 10 News. At the scene, a shot-up sedan was found surrounded by crime scene tape, indicating the area where the confrontation most likely occurred.
Authorities detailed that the injuries ranged in severity, with one person shot eight times and a second victim with a gunshot wound to the foot.
