In Franklin County, a Brookville man's routine took an unexpected turn, culminating in his arrest due to drug possession. According to WISH-TV, Elbert A. Isaacs, 39, was found unresponsive in the middle of an intersection on Thursday evening by Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies.
When the officers arrived at Oxford Pike and Whitcomb Road, prompted by calls reporting a man unconscious, they discovered Isaacs and, after several attempts, they were capable of waking him. Upon his awakening, he was found to be in possession of a handgun and several types of drugs. The Franklin County Jail is now holding Isaacs, who faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, as reported by WRBI Radio.
Another incident involving drugs unfolded barely a week earlier in Kingston. Timothy Wright, found slumped over in a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air at a Weigel’s gas station, was awakened and subsequently arrested by Officer Marie Watson of the Kingston Police. An NCIC check revealed that Wright had a suspended driver's license and an active warrant for a probation violation, according to 3B Media News.
Not only was Wright confronted with his previous legal infractions, but the situation worsened as he was found with a substance believed to be methamphetamine. Officer Michael Arnold, who arrived to assist, discovered the drugs that tipped the scales at approximately 14.4 grams in Wright’s pocket. Driving while in possession of methamphetamine, and with the intent to manufacture, deliver, or sell it, Wright now confronts an array of charges. Alongside the drugs, $428 in cash, a cell phone, and even Wright's vintage vehicle were seized in relation to drug activity.
