Last week, Inter Miami CF rolled out the proverbial red carpet for local heroes, saluting military personnel, first responders, and veterans with a day's worth of appreciation and soccer-slash-fútbol festivities. Coined as the "For Those Who Serve Us Tournament", it featured our brave servicemen and women booting the ball alongside the team's own Yannick Bright and Robert Taylor at their swank Florida Blue Training Center, followed by an early Thanksgiving chow down at Chase Stadium’s cushy Northwest Club, as reported by Local 10 news.

The sports action kicked off early with teams from the US Southern Command, Coast Guard, City of Miami PD, Miami-Dade County PD, and US Customs and Border Patrol competing on the field. The Customs and Border Patrol team took the win, which must've felt great. The players then helped serve a delicious meal, thanks to OVG and the efforts of Marcelo Weigandt, Oscar Ustari, David Martinez, Noah Allen, and Julian Gressel, who also took time to chat with attendees and spread positive vibes.

Inter Miami combined Veterans Day and Thanksgiving efforts, offering both a football competition and a Thanksgiving feast in one meaningful event. Camila Jocelyn-Holt, Inter Miami's Director of Community Engagement, explained, "I think our priority was to get individuals that sacrifice their life day in and day out to come out and have a good time, have a once in a lifetime experience of playing in our training facility with each other, building a spirit of camaraderie, friendship, and then bringing them over and actually giving them a meal and serving them," as reported by OurSportsCentral.

Player Noah Allen summed up the sentiment neatly: "It's such an important job as a first responder, you know, they give to us, they help us, they serve for us," he shared according to OurSportsCentral, "I think this is a time of giving right now around Thanksgiving and it's always important to give back not only to them but to everyone." Props to Inter Miami and their partners Splendor, BODYARMOR, Celsius, Publix, and Heineken, for backing such a commendable shindig.
