
Tragedy struck Kearny Mesa yesterday afternoon as a fatal traffic accident claimed the life of a man crossing the street in his wheelchair. The San Diego Police Department's Watch Commander, Woodell, reported the incident occurred at approximately 5:35 PM yesterday on the 7600 block of Ronson Road. The identity and age of the victim remain undisclosed to the public at this time.
According to the San Diego Police Department's official account, the man traversed from south to north when a 58-year-old male driving eastbound in a Toyota Camry collided with him. The impact took place within the eastbound lane of Ronson Road, tragically leading to the man's severe injuries. He was quickly transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the car involved in the accident was not injured, and alcohol was not a factor in the incident.
Authorities have not suggested any charges, and the traffic division's involvement suggests carefully analyzing the accident's circumstances.
