According to WGN-TV, the incident that left a man fatally wounded unfolded in the vicinity of Roosevelt Road and Ridgeland Avenue shortly after the hour of 7 a.m. Multiple reports of gunfire precipitated the police response, with witnesses recounting the echo of around seven shots tearing through the morning calm.
Found in a state of critical distress, the man was extricated from a white sedan that, as viewed from the lens of SkyCam9, was shown overturned on Roosevelt Road, as detailed by WGN-TV. After being rushed to Loyola University Medical Center, despite the valiant efforts to preserve his being, he succumbed to his injuries.
