The Memphis Police Department is currently investigating a pair of shootings that occurred in Parkway Village earlier. Action News 5 reports two separate incidents, one on Fairbrook Avenue around 6:30 a.m. and another nearby on American Way, close to a local motel. However, at the time of the report, it was not confirmed if anyone was struck by the gunfire.
In a related development, FOX13 Memphis disclosed that the police responded to a shooting just before 6:15 a.m. at the Classic Inn on American Way. A man and a woman were found with gunshot wounds, and they were taken to Regional One in critical and non-critical conditions, respectively. A third individual, found on Fairbrook Avenue approximately two minutes drive from the first scene, was reported uninjured; despite this, Memphis Police indicate that both scenes are closely related and three individuals are currently being questioned concerning the events.
Elaborating further on the victims' conditions, Local Memphis states that the man is in critical condition while the woman sustained non-critical injuries following the shooting on the 5100 block of American Way. Both were quickly transported to the hospital for medical attention in the aftermath of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement works to piece together the events of the morning. The Memphis Police Department has not yet released more details or suspect information as they continue to examine the shootings and any possible connections between those involved.
