Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner underscored the city's solidarity with Nahariya, acknowledging the challenging times faced by Israel due to "recent and continual attacks by foreign terrorist organizations", and in a gesture of support, the Mayor proclaimed, “Our commitment to the safety and strength of Nahariya and all of Israel is unshakable,” information sourced from a Miami Beach official announcement.
The ambulance is being received by the American Friends of Magen David Adom on behalf of Nahariya, emphasizing the importance of such alliances in times of crisis; Magen David Adom, the Israeli analog to the Red Cross, crucially relies on donations for its operational costs, operating without Israeli government backing for general operations, needs this type of support for equipment, dispatch systems, and training—as highlighted in the city's announcement.
Reflecting on the past and the motivation behind the donation, Commissioner Kristen Rosen Gonzalez recollected the heavy toll of the events from October 7, 2023, shared within the announcement, “My colleagues and I on the Miami Beach City Commission wanted to contribute in any way we could following the heinous Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel.” Commissioner Laura Dominguez added to this sentiment, “This ambulance is more than just a vehicle — it’s a lifeline. We hope it brings both practical aid and a message of solidarity to the people of Nahariya.”
