
A tragic incident unfolded in Miami when a pedestrian was struck and killed by a privately owned school bus. The Miami-Dade Police Department has confirmed the fatality, involving an adult female, identified as Anjali Persaud. This unfortunate occurrence took place yesterday, according to an official press release from the county's website.
Detectives from the Traffic Homicide Unit mentioned, on arrival at the scene located at SW 109th Avenue & SW 3rd Street, responding officers from the City of Sweetwater Police Department encountered a severely injured Persaud at around 8:25 a.m., subsequent to being hit by the vehicle. Despite the immediate medical attention and swift transport to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital by Miami Dade Fire Rescue, Persaud's injuries proved fatal. After the accident, the driver involved was reported to have stayed on the site, engaged in full cooperation with the investigation.
The preliminary findings suggest that the school bus was navigating east on SW 3rd Street after crossing SW 109th Avenue when Persaud was hit.
