Max Edwards, a well-known Miami area football coach, has been accused of engaging in highly inappropriate conduct while on school property. Local 10 reported that the Miami Jackson Senior High School coach was allegedly seen watching pornographic material on a school computer in a classroom.
The allegations surfaced after a video appeared to show Edwards engaging in the behavior. This is especially ironic given his long-standing role in shaping young athletes' minds and bodies on the football field, where his expertise has been recognized for over a decade. “Miami-Dade County Public Schools is disturbed by the allegations made regarding concerning behavior involving an employee at Miami Jackson Senior High School. The individual has been removed from the school site pending the outcome of an investigation,” a district representative stated, as Local 10 reported, and they assured the community that Edwards has been removed from the school site while the investigation is underway.
Before his tenure at Miami Jackson, Edwards was a fixture at Miami Northwestern Senior High School where he fostered an era of athletic superiority, leading the team to multiple state championships. Nonetheless, the current allegations cast a shadow over his storied career as the school district scrambles to ascertain how this incident occurred and to decide the necessary consequent steps.
According to CBS News Miami, the video that sparked the investigation was acquired by them and shows the coach viewing explicit material in the presence of at least one student, who managed to capture the scene on their cell phone, this has raised questions about the potential for criminal charges against Edwards and the integrity of the environment at Miami Jackson Senior High School. As the story develops, no comment has been forthcoming from either Edwards or his family despite attempts by the media to seek their perspective on the matter.
