The clip, captured on a residential security camera from the 800 block of Patterson Street, was released by authorities at 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, according to KUTV.
The footage in question depicted a man clad in a tan vest, apparently actively preventing his daughter from running away by forcibly dragging her back. As the scene unfolded, a large dog approached and lunged at the girl. By Saturday afternoon, the man had come forward to the police, identifying himself and the young woman as his juvenile daughter and explaining that the confrontation erupted after she attempted to flee, having been missing for hours.
Following acquiring this information, officers visited the family's residence and confirmed that the daughter was "safe and in good health." KSLTV also stated that the initial video posted by the Ogden Police Department had since been removed from Facebook.
